The Kansas City Chiefs will enter the 2026 NFL season with a chip on their shoulder after failing to qualify for the playoffs last year.
A serious lower-body injury sustained by quarterback Patrick Mahomes ultimately doomed Kansas City's 2025 campaign, but the star passer's presumptive return to action in Week 1 should put wind in the Chiefs' sails as the team endeavors to punch its ticket to another Super Bowl.
Take a look at this brief profile of Mahomes and every other quarterback who is currently on Kansas City's roster before Chiefs training camp kicks off in St. Joseph, Missouri, later this month:
Kansas City acquired Patrick Mahomes in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He will be the Chiefs' starting quarterback next season, and should be expected to play with an extra intensity as he returns from a knee injury that prematurely ended his 2025 regular-season campaign.
2026 cap number: $34,653,888
A key free agency addition, Fields is expected to be Mahomes' backup next season and originally entered the league as a first-round pick of the Chicago Bears in the 2021 NFL Draft.
2026 cap number: $3,000,000
Nussmeier was Kansas City's final pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and is likely to earn a spot on the Chiefs' practice squad after training camp — if Andy Reid doesn't decide to carry a third quarterback on the team's final 53-man roster.
2026 cap number: $915,122
A savvy veteran, Oladokun will likely spend the 2026 season competing for playing time on an NFL practice squad. While he isn't expected to push for a roster spot, Oladokun should be expected to see action in all of Kansas City's preseason exhibitions.
2026 cap number: $1,005,000
