The 2026 high school football season begins Friday, Aug. 28, across Somerset County and the state.
A year ago, Meyersdale bested Conemaugh Township for District 5 Class 1A gold. Berlin Brothersvalley fell to Chestnut Ridge in the District 5-2A championship. Windber was the only other Somerset County program to make the postseason. However, there's plenty to look forward to this season.
