Lmao. The key guy we got in return for Upton is gone in 1 1/2 years. Embarrassing.

We got a guy without a position.

C 43
RF 22
1B 27
DH 20

That is what he has played this year.

This trade by itself is decent.

Your statement just shows how truly bad the Upton trade was

Here are some positives:

Nick Piecoro ‏@nickpiecoro
Dbacks' organizational depth at third base with Jake Lamb and Brandon Drury made it easier to part with Prado.

Jack Magruder ‏@JackMagruder
Only Joey Gallo (37) and Kris Bryant (34) have more homers in the minors this year than new #Dbacks O'Brien (33).

I'm just glad he is gone. Hopefully the Yankees are paying the remainder of his joke of a contract.

Him being the prized pig of the Upton trade already made me not like him... then came his idiotic contract extension, then having to watch him play, watch him suck, watch his sub par defense and watch his obnoxious dirt rubbing when guys won games (think the Yankees will stand for that?)... I was just not a Prado fan.

He is a glorified utility man. Paid about 3 million a year for his hitting and defensive attributes and another 7 million for "grit".

Hopefully, LaRussa will let Kevin Towers go back to San Diego, so we can say this was a clown front office, uh, bro. :)

With two good 3B prospects in the Minors, it wasn't just a salary dump. The Arizona Diamondbacks are rebuilding. It is the only way we could go. The sooner, the better.

In the case of Cody Ross, we just need to dump him. His decent days are behind him.

This is what happens when you have a losing season. You trade away your best players.

Don't want this happen. Start a winning culture.

Steve said tonight that it looks like the D-backs haven't lost a thing with Gordon Pacheco at 3B. I agree! And this is only his 3rd season.

P.S: And just for emphasis, Andy Marte (now our backup 3B), has hit a home run in his first Major League at-bat in four years.

Tony La Russa has arrived in Phoenix.
