This year's NFL draft in Green Bay figures to have a very heavy Scarlet and Gray hue to it. Somewhere around 15 Ohio State players are expected to go somewhere in the seven rounds of the annual spectacle, and that means we'll be hard at work keeping up with all the Buckeyes scrolling across the bottom of your high-definition television set or streaming device.
Offensive tackle Josh Simmons is expected to be the highest pick of the OSU players eligible this year, and he's projected to go somewhere in the first round, potentially in the top half of the draft. There could be other first-rounders, but there's no doubt the mid-rounds will be littered with guys calling the banks of the Olentangy home.
Simmons was one of several college players invited to the green room of the NFL draft this year, but the only Buckeye. We were looking forward to him putting his best foot forward and dressing to the nines, but it now appears as though Simmons is not going to be attending the draft in person according to an updated list released by the league.
Though there won't be a future Buckeye in the NFL attending this year's draft, you can still bank on hearing more Ohio State players being selected this year than any other program. Columbus is where an NFL factory sits after all.
