Poll: Vote for Blue FCU's top girls athlete from spring sports

The Coloradoan is proud to present our weekly Athlete of the Week series, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the best Fort Collins-area high school athletes.

With the spring high school sports season (and whole school year) wrapped up, this will be a special edition of our weekly awards.

Here, you can vote on the top Fort Collins-area girls athlete for the entire 2026 spring sports season.

You can find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Voting is open until 11:59 p.m. June 1, with the winner announced June 2.

The following girls athletes are nominated for their performances in spring sports:​

• Kaia Bennett, Rocky Mountain track and field: It was a dream senior season for Bennett, who earned a 5A discus state championship to cap it off. But the Lobos' thrower also took second in the 5A shot put, to go along with six total event wins, nine more runner-up performances and a league title-winning new personal best discus mark of 134 feet, 4 inches.
• Kiana Cumings, Windsor track and field: Cumings went 4-for-4 at state, sweeping the 4A 200- and 400-meter state titles (for a second straight year) and also running anchor leg on the Wizards' champion 4x200 and 4x400 relay squads as part of a 4A runner-up team finish. She also helped Windsor's 4x100 relay team tie the state's best time ever at 46.41 seconds in an April meet.
• Reese Morgan, Fossil Ridge soccer: Morgan delivered storybook walk-off winners and a repeat 5A state championship for Fossil. The SaberCat senior scored OT goals to win the semifinal and finals matches, was second on the team with 23 points and earned Northern Conference/Colorado 5A Player of the Year honors.
• CheyAnne Schrick, Timnath golf: Make it back-to-back for the Cubs junior, who dominated Class 3A for a second straight state title. Schrick fired a final-round 65 (7-under) as part of Timnath's 1-2-3 state finish and 3A team championship, and had the fifth-best scoring average (all classes) while winning five events total.
• Addyson Smith, Fossil Ridge track and field: Smith was officially Colorado's fastest girls runner, with the state championships to prove it. The SaberCat senior swept 5A state 100 and 200 dash titles with new personal-record times in both, also adding a fourth-place finish (and three regular-season wins) in the long jump.
