Okay, this has been long-overdue and I apologize for the extensive delay...

Who is the best male vocalist of all-time?

This time though, the choices will be singers who would best complement the previous winners..... Here's the band so far:

So far..the band consist of:

Neil Peart-Drums
Les Claypool-Bass
Ray Manzarek-Keyboardist
Stevie Nicks-Female Vocalist

My final attempt at posting this.....I guess my immense insomnia has begun to take its toll on me!!!! :D Please bare with me.....

Eddie Vedder had a vote in the 1st attempt and Halford would have been voted by Cardinal Bob who astutely pointed out that I omitted him, but I thought I originally included him among the choices....I realized that I had Mike Patton listed twice in the original one....That's where I meant to put Halford....

Some great names on that list but my choice is Geddy Lee. He has a real full sounding voice and can/could go high when needed to.

For me it's a four way tie between Bob Seger-Ian Gillan-Van Morrison-John Fogerty

I chose Steve Perry, but didn't notice the rest of the band was a dependent. I'll change it to daltrey.

Missing the best in there. his name is Maynard James Keenen. he sings for Tool. he's not only one of the most intellegent lyrics writers you'll ever hear, he's got one of the most dynamic ranges you'll ever hear. there is no comparison.

I'm actually shocked that I omitted him from the list.....I guess I was under the influence of the pixie-stix I snorted before I posted this poll (as evident that it took me 4 attempts to perfect the poll, but apparently I wasnt successful in that)......

Maynard is very dynamic and distinctive.......Him, Peter Steele, Lajon Witherpoon (of Sevendust), Trent Reznor, Aaron Lewis, and Burton C. Bell (formerly of Fear Factory) are among the best vocalist to come out over the past 10-years...

I'm livin' in a van down by the river.
Sam Cooke. I think that he had the most resonant and just plain beautiful voice I've ever heard. His range was amazing. He's the man whose soulful sound inspired such singers as Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, and dozens of others. Freddie Mercury had a beautiful voice, not quite as good as Cooke, but really, really good. Great range and resonance. He's the reason that everyone knows the lyrics to "Bohemian Rhapsody"...and all of the songs on the Flash Gordon soundtrack. He made me a Queen fan.

I think that R. Kelly has a great voice, but unfortunately he also has a penchant for chasing underage girls...

I voted for other, and the other is Prince.
The man continues to amaze me decade after decade with his voice and his guitar.

Where the Hell is Bob Dylan and Neil Young? ;)

I voted for Robert Plant. Dudes got pipes, and can rock with the best of them, or make you cry yourself to sleep at night (err, I had a friend who did that...yeah, a friend...he lives in Niagra Falls, you wouldn't know him... whatawuss....).

But, I'd make Steve Perry and Freddie Murcury roadies just in case Plant got laryngitis so they could fill in in a pinch.
