Okay...without further ado, who should be the keyboardist/piano player of the
official "ASFN All-Star Jam Band"?

So far...

1) Neil Peart-Drums
2) Les Claypool-Bassist

I thought John Mayall played guitar?
Yes..in fact he played organ, guitar, piano, keyboards, harmonica...etc...

His best work though was when he played organ for the Blues Breakers when
Clapton was on lead-guitar and John McVie played bass...

I chose Ray Manzarek because I do think he is the best on the list but the one guy on that list that I have ALWAYS thought was a solid keyboard player is Tony Banks. Listen to Genesis' Three Sides Live and his playing is incredibly powerful.

Not into Jazz, hey Louie? How about Chick Corea? Incredible jazz musician.

I also see you're representing Dream Theater with Jordan Rudess on there, and he is incredible, but for my ear I really liked DT's Keyboards on their middle albums with Derek Sherinian. He also played for kiss in the 80s and his solo album with Zak Wilde on guitar is just incredible.

I must admit that I haven't checked-out much newer Jazz....I've heard of Chick Corea, but wouldnt be able to identify anything he has performed... What songs do you recommend that I listen to by him?

Unfortunately I couldn't help you there. I'm not a big jazz guy either, I just know the few times I've seen or heard Corea, he was absolutely ripping it up. I think he came out in the late 60s, though I could be mistaken. I know he did a project with Stanley Jordan (guitarist that plays guitar like a piano) a few years back, so you might want to start there.
