U.S. authorities are pursuing a shooter in Kansas City following four separate incidents – with one occurring just a 15-minute drive from England's training base at Swope Soccer Village.

Oscar Sanchez-Munoz, 22, is being sought after one person was killed and four others wounded in a shooting spree. A standoff was reported at a residence in Independence, with the property catching fire.

Once the blaze was put out, Sanchez-Munoz was discovered not to be inside, and authorities continue their manhunt.

"If you see this individual, please call the TIPS hotline, please call 911 immediately. We are hot on the trail of this subject, and we want to make sure he's taken into custody as soon as possible," police chief Stacey Graves said, via The Mirror.

"I want people to know that the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is out here protecting and serving.

"We have a lot of law enforcement agencies here in Kansas City, not only to keep Kansas City safe, but also World Cup events. That's one of the reasons we brought in a lot of outside law enforcement, so we could keep those events safe and make sure we have enough officers to police our city."

The manhunt represents the latest incident to impact the England squad. It follows just days after the team fell victim to theft, as belongings were stolen from a van en route to the training facility. Most of the stolen property has since been retrieved.

During their time at Swope Soccer Village, the England squad is being accompanied by a heavy police escort on the journey between their hotel and the training facility.

The squad flew back to Kansas City last night following their 4-2 victory over Croatia in their opening Group L game in Dallas.

Thomas Tuchel's men will now turn their attention to the second Group L encounter against Ghana at the Boston Stadium on Tuesday.

The Daily Mail also reports that the team will participate in a behind-closed-doors friendly today.

The match will serve as an opportunity to build and maintain fitness and sharpness for those players who were either absent or saw limited action in Wednesday's game against Croatia.
