Poland winger Jakub Kaminski has joined Portuguese top club Benfica on a contract until 2031 from Bundesliga side Cologne.
Benfica reportedly made use of a €20 million ($22.9 million) buyout clause after Cologne had first made Kaminski's loan move from Wolfsburg permanent last month for an estimated €5 million.
"I feel great. You can tell, right from the very first minute, just how great this club is, with its rich history, and I hope that, together, we can achieve great things,’ the 24-year-old told Benfica TV.
Kaminski scored seven goals and had five assists for Cologne in the past season. Cologne managing director Thomas Kessler said Kaminski "fully convinced" on the pitch but that they were aware that his performances attracted interest from other clubs.
