Cologne rescued a late 1-1 draw in a thrilling Bundesliga match at St Pauli on Friday evening.
It was a hard-fought and open game, and St Pauli had a ball cleared on the line before they finally broke the deadlock in the 69th minute.
Hauke Wahl collected the ball after a corner and played it to Karol Mets, who headed it into the net.
But the guests snatched a point as they were awarded a late penalty after Jakub Kaminski went to the ground in the area under a challenge from Mets.
The decision came after video review but that was no problem for Luca Waldschmidt, who scored the equalizer from the spot.
Cologne will be somewhat pleased with the result as they moved up to 12th in the standings and are now five points from St Pauli, who are the first team in the relegation zone.
Leaders Bayern Munich can clinch the league title this weekend if they beat VfB Stuttgart on Sunday and Borussia Dortmund drop points against Hoffenheim the day before.
