ALTOONA, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Pirates noted on their weekly radio show that right-handed pitcher Jared Jones is scheduled to continue his major league rehab assignment with the Altoona Curve Tuesday at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
Jones, who is recovering from right elbow surgery, missed the entire 2025 campaign and returned to the mound for outings in Bradenton and Indianapolis. Last Wednesday, Jones tossed three innings for the second time in as many outings.
The 24-year-old righty struck out 47 batters in 44 1/3 innings with the Curve during the 2023 campaign and was named Altoona's pitcher of the year. He held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his 10 outings with the team.
Jones made his major league debut with the Pirates with 10 electrifying strikeouts against the Miami Marlins March 29, 2024 in 5 2/3 innings. Jones picked up 132 strikeouts in 121 2/3 innings with the Pirates and recorded a 4.14 ERA in his debut season.
