The days when Konnor Griffin got off to a slow start to his MLB career seem like a long time ago.
He's been 20 years old for less than a month, and the Pittsburgh Pirates phenom is in a groove.
On Wednesday night, Griffin went 4-for-5 with three runs scored for the Pirates. He raised his season average to .278 and his OPS to .738.
All four hits were singles, but that wasn't a big deal. He was coming around to score regardless.
The Pirates won the game over the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-0, as well -- so they'll gladly take that 4-for-5 out of Griffin.

He also became the second-youngest player in MLB in the last 85 years to have at least four hits and three runs scored in a game, according to StatMuse.
The only player to do it younger was Juan Soto when he was first coming up with the Washington Nationals:
That's certainly great company to keep. Soto had one of the best career starts of anyone, and now he's trending toward a Hall of Fame career.
If Griffin can do that, too, or even anything close to it, the Pirates and all of Pittsburgh will be very happy.
