With a busy spring sports week around the Marion area, it's time to recognize the best efforts for the week ending May 17.
The Marion Star is producing a pair of athlete of the week polls for boys and girls, and they can be found at MarionStar.com and its app.
The polls will be open through early morning Sunday, May 24. Fans may vote as often as allowed.
Here are the nominees:
Marion Harding softball's Lilianna King hit two doubles for two RBIs in a tournament win over DeSales.
Northmor softball's Hailey Stuff drove in the winning run in the ninth inning of a tournament victory over Utica.
North Union softball's Leah Cox pitched a five-inning no-hitter with one walk and nine strikeouts in a tournament win over Worthington Christian.
Elgin softball's Madison Hill tossed a five-hitter with no walks and 11 strikeouts, adding a triple, two singles, four runs and three RBIs at the plate in a tournament win over Tree of Life.
Cardington softball's Celia Hall hit a home run, triple and single for three runs and three RBIs in a tournament win over Wellington.
Mount Gilead softball's Livie Brannon hit a home run, double and single for six RBIs in a tournament win over East Knox.

Pleasant tennis players Alex Yancey and the doubles team of Griffin Gleespen and Luke Russell qualified for the Division II district tournament.
Ridgedale baseball's Gabe Malo threw 82 pitches for 57 strikes in pitching a complete game four-hitter with a walk and six strikeouts during a win over Perry that clinched the Northwest Central Conference championship.
Mount Gilead baseball's Gage Baker allowed six hits and a walk with 11 strikeouts, plus hit a pair of singles in a win over Cardington.
North Union baseball's Greyson Bledsoe gave up five hits and a walk with six strikeouts in a win over Bellefontaine.
Elgin baseball's Peyton Zempter hit three singles, scored three runs and drove in two runs in a win over North Baltimore.
Northmor baseball's Jack Bowdre hit a triple and two singles for three runs and two RBIs in a win over Loudonville.
River Valley baseball's Nolan Bailey hit a two-run single in the top of the seventh to lift his team to a win over Ontario.
In last week's girls poll, North Union softball's Kennedy Harrah, who had a triple and single in a win over Bellefontaine to clinch the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division championship, earned 806 of 1,759 votes for 46% to win it.
Other nominees were Marion Harding softball's Bryleigh Long, River Valley softball's Chloe Addis, Cardington track's Mickenzie White, Pleasant softball's Carly Davis, Highland track's Kynzie Green, Ridgedale track's Maddie McKenzie, Mount Gilead track's Kenlee Trainer and Northmor track's Brooke Bower.
In last week's boys poll, River Valley baseball's Aiden Bowers, who went 3-for-3 with four steals in a win over Clear Fork, earned 426 of 1,252 votes for 34% to win it.
Other nominees were Marion Harding tennis players Landon Blackford and Matthew Stover, Marion Harding baseball's Ray J Scott-Harbolt, Cardington track's Carter Sherman, Northmor track's Thomas Detwiler, Ridgedale track's Breyton Richmond, Highland track's Jett Black and Mount Gilead track's Tae Davis.
