Any of you ever try cooking it? Supposedly it's fantastic and sells for quite a bit less than some of the snobbier cuts of beef.

But, it isn't a common cut here. Anyone know any stores or butcher shops that regularly carry it?

Oddly enough, I have bought picanha cuts at Costco in the past. I thought it was just above mid tier for me. I think it was around $18 a pound and you can get filets for that price at Costco at times. I personally didn't think it was worth the price point.

I've tried it and found the claims on it over rated. It wasn't my favorite. I'd still take a filet or a NY strip over one.

For a butcher shop on it, Fogo de Chao. They have a "butcher shop" that you can buy their cuts of meat uncooked. Pricing isn't crazy either. I usually buy my filets from them since it's close in price to the grocery stores but much better quality meat. You can place an order on their website and pick it up just like take-out.

One of my favorite cuts but European style, not Brazilian. Rub Garlic, pepper and plenty of salt in the fat layer and let the melting fat flavour the meat
