Phillip Rivers was already on the practice field on Wednesday for the Indianapolis Colts.
Two days after reports began swirling that the Colts were bringing in Rivers for a workout, he is now signed to the Indianapolis practice squad, and head coach Shane Steichen didn't rule out the possibility of him starting against Seattle.
The Colts will evaluate Rivers throughout the week and decide his status for Sunday accordingly.
Rivers should acclimate quickly to the Colts' offense, having worked with Steichen for several seasons while both were with the Chargers -- Steichen as Rivers' quarterbacks coach for much of that time.
However, the larger unknowns, as SI's Albert Breer noted recently, are around how he moves in the pocket, how quickly he can get into football shape, and how he takes a hit after being out of the game for five years.
On Wednesday, Rivers discussed the decision to return to the Colts and the NFL.
Below is a look at some moments from Rivers' first practice back with the Indianapolis Colts.
