The Philadelphia Phillies have been looking to figure out their outfield issues for some time. With a constant rotation of players coming through the organization since 2022, the Phillies need a solid outfielder who can hit the ball.

In a report from Foul Territory, Baltimore Orioles reporter Jacob Calvin Meyer names Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins as someone who could be on the move if the Orioles continue to struggle in 2025.

Meyer says, "I would not rule anything out because of how shrewd this front office is."

If the Orioles fall out of contention, Cedric Mullins could be on the move, says @JCalvinMeyer.

With Mullins being 30 years old, and in the final year of his current deal, the Orioles could move off him if they fall out of contention. Baltimore would strongly consider offers, especially if Mullins continues to play as well as he has to begin the year.

Mullins is batting .292 with a .432 on base percentage, and a .551 slugging percentage, good for the sixth best OPS at .983. Mullins has already accumulated 1.3 WAR in 2025, and has been one of the best hitters in baseball to begin the year.

Through the first 26 games of the year, Mullins is among the best in baseball offensively. He has 26 hits, 17 runs scored, five doubles, six home runs, 20 RBI, 20 walks, and 21 strikeouts in 111 plate appearances.

In a trade for Mullins, the Phillies would hope this version of himself continues. There is precedent for this level of play, as back in 2021, Mullins had 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases.

His addition to the outfield would be huge for the Phillies. Even though he is a left-handed hitter, and the Phillies have been reported as looking for a right-handed outfielder, his offensive output makes his handedness moot.

The compensation for Mullins wouldn't be cheap. But considering the Phillies are in win-now mode, leveraging multiple top-30 prospects for Mullins wouldn't be the worst allocation of resources.

Adding Mullins to the batting order would make the Phillies lineup one of, if not the most dangerous for a pitcher to traverse. The former All-Star and Silver Slugger would be a great addition to the Phillies lineup, and would also provide solid fielding ability in the outfield.
