Sanchez was in the second year of his prior four-year, $22.5 million deal that included club options for later seasons. This fresh agreement represents a substantial commitment from the Phillies to one of their young standouts. It removes any potential free agency concerns and allows the organization to plan around Sanchez as a cornerstone for the rotation through the end of the decade.
The left-hander has proven to be a reliable innings eater and consistent performer since breaking into the Phillies’ rotation. His development has been key to Philadelphia’s continual contention in the National League East. With the 2026 regular season set to begin shortly, this extension provides peace of mind and reflects the team’s belief in his ability to help anchor the staff.

In his most recent season in 2025, Sanchez delivered an outstanding performance for the Phillies. The southpaw went 13-5 with an excellent 2.50 ERA across 32 starts and 202 innings. He recorded 212 strikeouts and maintained a 1.06 WHIP, cementing his status as a top-tier starter in the National League.
