Now that we have baseball back today, we have to talk about this whole “day off after a game” Opening Day thing. I get it. MLB is scared of opening rainouts and wants a buffer day just in case. However, I am impatient and I want games all the time. Doubleheaders even!
Maybe this will go into the CBA.

Phillies news:
- Justin Crawford got his first hit right away. Then his second hit. All in front of family and friends. It’s a career off to a good start ($).
- Speaking of Crawford, he and Trea Turner will hopefully be on the basepaths often together. The team plans to “unleash hell” with them ($).
- Ben Davis will call more games at field level this upcoming season. Oh boy.
MLB news:
- The Dodgers have several top 20 selling jerseys across MLB. Without looking, can you guess who is on top of that list?
- Opening Day saw the debut of the ABS challenge system, a largely successful debut ($). Opening Day is always cool.
- Gunnar Hoglund will miss time with a lumbar spine strain, which to this mid-40’s person, sounds incredibly debilitating.
