Did you happen to see the lineup that the Phillies put out yesterday against the Pirates? Sure they won in a 14-10 barnburner, but man did that scorecard contain a lot of names that will be forgotten in a few short weeks. Such is life in the WBC spring training.

- Keaton Anthony has been getting some BP looks in left field this spring ($). He tried it during a game Thursday; it didn’t go well.
- The Cristopher Sanchez-Curtis Mead trade takes at the time have not aged well. A lesson in being patient with trades rather than make snap judgements ($).
- Jhoan Duran still won’t discuss what his new pitch actually is, even if we kind of already know thanks to Statcast.
MLB news:
- Jeremy Pena will miss the WBC for the Dominican Republic with a fractured finger tip. A sizeable blow for the DR’s roster.
- Whenever there is a suspension for PED usage, the takes on the situation can range from considered to outlandish. Let’s place this one closer to the latter ($).
- The Angels are the latest team to try their own television channel. Maybe the people watching it won’t care about winning either.
