The trade deadline draws nearer and it feels like we are all in a holding pattern talking about anything else in regards to the team. We want to see what the roster looks like post deadline as soon as possible, so let’s just get it over with.

Phillies news:

• Andrew Painter was showing some improvement in Lehigh Valley, so the team brought him back up to the majors.
• Brandon Marsh was slumping badly this year already, but pulled himself out of it. He’s hoping those lessons can carry over to this slump as well ($).

MLB news:

• If the Brewers were to acquire Tarik Skubal, they are completely fine with having to pay the entirety of his remaining salary ($).
• Speaking of the Tigers, they are promoting Max Clark, their top prospect. Is this a signal of their future plans?
• Freddy Peralta was scratched from his start last night with the Mets. Might a trade be coming closer to fruition?
