Phillies' Don Mattingly receives fun All-Star Game news originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Philadelphia is going to be the site of the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, and there's bound to be a solid group representing the hometown Philadelphia Phillies.
Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Cristopher Sanchez, Jhoan Duran, and maybe even Brandon Marsh all could represent the team this summer. But a new face with the Phillies might be making the All-Star team this year.
According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, Phillies interim manager Don Mattingly is set to be brought on by Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts as part of the coaching staff in Philadelphia for the All-Star Game.
Don Mattingly set to join Dave Roberts' All-Star Game coaching staff
"Marmol and Phillies manager Don Mattingly will be the non-Dodger coaches with Roberts," Nightengale reports.
A little over a month away from the All-Star Game, Mattingly, the interim manager of the Phillies who's help lead the Phillies to the best record in baseball since he replaced Rob Thomson, is getting a chance to help at this year's All-Star Game.
With the Los Angeles Dodgers making the World Series, Roberts is the manager for the National League team at this year's All-Star Game festivities for the second year in a row.
St. Louis Cardinals manager Oli Marmol also joined Roberts' coaching staff, but it's cool to see Mattingly, the hosting team's manager, get a spot on the All-Star coaching staff.

With the way things are going for the Phillies, Mattingly getting to represent the Phillies at the All-Star game is well-deserved.
He's been a fantastic interim manager, and might even lead the Phillies against Roberts' Dodgers this fall for a postseason series.
For now, Mattingly and Roberts will work together to try to help the NL All-Star team, which should have a few Phillies representatives on the roster, beat the American League team led by Mattingly's former team, the Toronto Blue Jays, and manager John Schneider.
