Philip Rivers makes the second start of his comeback with the Indianapolis Colts against the San Francisco 49ers on "Monday Night Football."
The 44-year-old grandfather and former Pro Football Hall of Fame semifinalist came out of retirement against the Seattle Seahawks, leading a go-ahead drive in the final minute before Seattle countered with winning field goal. He completed 18-of-27 passes for 120 yards, including the game's only touchdown and an interception on the Colts' final play.
Rivers, best known for his 16 seasons with the Chargers, played for the Colts in the 2020 season, their most recent to end with a playoff berth.
Rivers goes 5-of-7 for 73 yards on the opening drive, capped by a 20-yard touchdown to Alec Pierce.
Rivers hits Jonathan Taylor for a 19-yard gain.
