Oh no! In case you're unaware, Hall of Fame pitcher Randy Johnson became even more famous -- or infamous -- for once hitting a passing bird with a pitch. It's a feat that's been pulled other times in other baseball situations, but I haven't necessarily seen it in golf.
... Until now. Per Golfweek, Ryan Gerard lined up a tee shot at No. 7 at PGA National in the first round of the 2026 Cognizant Classic, and as you'll see below, it appears he clipped a bird with his shot that still landed on the green. No official word on the bird and if it was OK.
He did not, in fact, make birdie after that.
Hoping the fowl is OK!
