Bro what are you on about?

I didn’t say you have to be a captain to be a foundational player. That quote from PFF was probably written by ChatGPT. Even if PJJ is a foundational player (and I assume he is), what of value is being constructed on that foundation?

MCD brought up what an exemplary leader PJJ is. Such a powerful leader and so respected by his teammates he’s yet to be named a team captain. His leadership has had such a measurable impact on the team we got locked into an 1-14 tailspin to end the year.

What is the value of this kind of leadership? The main expression of it I remember was him pulling Gannon off Demercado after the fumble against TN.
OK, fair enough so how many captains are on a team? Six out of 52 on the active roster.? are you saying only those six are able to be leaders then?

He is a FA after this season and the Franchise Tag for a WR next year will just shy of $30 million. He want to be closer to Sophia, his kid and family. If he is not extended, I am willing to bet $5 he gives the 49ers a discount to play close to home.
i'm willing to bet monti lowballs him then pays him

Is that what I said?

The players get the opportunity to highlight their leaders at the end of each training camp. Three years running they haven’t nominated PJJ. This would seem to go against MCD’s assertion that PJJ’s leadership is exceptional or additionally informs his average (at best) onfield performances.

I think the Giants had 10 captains last season. Just present some evidence that PJJ is a great leader if you’re gonna assert it.

Even the article provided was about how PJJ was working to improve his leadership.

Why are people complaining about Parris Johnson? Hes been a very good young LT.

He should 100% be extended. If he's a top 5 paid LT that's just because players make more money when they sign an extension.

I think he'll be a top 5-8 LT moving forward. Hrs exactly the kind of guy you sign to a second contract.

If not for how he was acquired, I don't think people would mind a slight overpay for a solid left tackle.

That trade was revolting in the moment and it's only worse since.

Spilled milk, bro… hindsight is always 2020. PJJ is a good player and I’m glad he’s here. The draft was three+ years ago. Time to move on. Bitching about it year after year serves nothing. We know the franchise sucks we know our GM sucks. I’m just happy he got a good player at this point.
That was the very definition of foresight, many here lamenting the idiotic trade when it happened.
