The Los Angeles Rams currently sit at the No. 26 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft — too early to reach on Day 2 players but too late to grab a blue-chip prospect. However, they are in a good position to move throughout the board depending on what player they're interested in drafting.

Some have speculated that the Rams are a good trade-back candidate considering the team's lack of needs and a second-round pick, while others think the Rams should ensure they grab their top target but moving up.

Pro Football Focus' Thomas Valentine went in both directions with his advice. He offered two potential trades the Rams should consider: One to move up into the middle of the first round and one to move out of the first round and into the second round.

Trade option No. 1: Rams move up to No. 15

This scenario, the Rams send Nos. 26 and 127 as well as a 2026 second-rounder to the Atlanta Falcons for the No. 15 pick. It's a bold move, and one Valentine writes would be to draft Texas A&M edge rusher Shemar Stewart, Boston College edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku or Michigan tight end Colston Loveland. Valentine added that if a player like Michigan cornerback Will Johnson fell that the Rams could even trade up again to snag him.

"The Rams' roster is in good shape, and the front office has done an excellent job of mitigating Aaron Donald‘s retirement by adding numerous pass-rushing options," Valentine wrote. "And with this trade to the Falcons, where the Rams pick up the 15th pick, they might not be done."

The Rams would really have to covet a player to make this move. It would leave the Rams without a fourth-round pick in 2025 and without a second-round pick for a second consecutive season next year. But the Rams aren't afraid to make wild moves, and this one could support their Super Bowl push if the player panned out. It also makes sense that the Rams would make a move with the Falcons, who just signed former Rams assistant Raheem Morris as their next head coach.

Trade option No. 2: Rams trade back to No. 52

If the Rams aren't comfortable with how the board looks, L.A. could wait awhile to make a pick — something they've done in the past anyway. Valentine offered a different trade package for the No. 26 pick in which the Seattle Seahawks trade their Nos. 52 and 137 picks in 2025 as well as a 2026 second-rounder to the Rams to add a second first-round player to their roster.

The move makes sense for Seattle, but it's a bit curious for L.A. The Rams would love out on a lot of top-tier prospects and wouldn't have a pick until the middle of the second round. However, they'd have four picks between Nos. 90 and 137 — a position the team has excelled in during the Les Snead area. Considering the Rams are really only in need of depth players, this move could allow the team to shore up positions of need with targeted strikes for players they want.
