Lol, so he was voted to the all decade team and will be in the hall of fame. I thought 3 of the 4 penalties against him were very bad calls. And he is still one the of the top cbs in the NFL. Anyway keep ranting if it makes you feel better

At least 2 of them were ticky tac. I just didn't see the interference.

There was also a lot more contact allowed back then from Michael Irvin lol. He got away with murder pushing off on A. Williams every time. I cussed the refs out on my tv every time we played the "Cowgirls".

I believe for the most part a WR pushing off then was not considered a penalty and it was the antics of Michael Irvin which prompted the NFL to enforce this penalty, much like Deacon Jones and the head slap if I remember correctly... it was once legal but put to a stop because as Monty Python would say it got silly lol

He's on decline, no doubt, but he's still darn good. That being said, I don't think you back up the Brink's truck and shovel a ton of dough at him long term. I'm not sure what is "fair", that will be someone else's call on the Cards front office.

If they bring him back, however they do, game day threads will be awesome again on the games he struggles in.

There is no cb in the draft anywhere near that caliber. Next year derek stingley could be. You can't compare Deon to peterson because the rules were so different. You can't touch wrs anymore and nfl teams throw the ball 59 times a game.

I brought up Deon because both he and Peterson are not known for their tackling skill but coverage wise Deon seldom put his hands on anyone even under those rules because his recovery speed was insane and he would bait QB while even playing ten yards off. Peterson is a good CB but might no longer even be in the top ten... but CBs are so hard to acquire that I do not see no choice but the Cards making some effort to retain him while our rookie QB contract is fresh
