Penn State's recruiting class has rebounded superbly after James Franklin's firing. It now has 20 commits and sits top of the Big Ten. However, there have been no truly high-profile additions in Campbell's first recruiting class with the program. Most disturbingly, there have been only four in-state commits. Now, the Nittany Lions are hoping to change that narrative in a big way.

Abraham Sesay, the 6-5, 215-pound edge rusher, would be the perfect addition to the Penn State class. However, Penn State will have to contend with an SEC powerhouse and a new recruiting rival. Notre Dame is currently favored to land his commitment, with an 87 percent chance per Rivals. Still, with an official visit to LSU taking place yesterday, the Nittany Lions now know who is in contention for his signature early on.

Sesay is most importantly a five-star, which is a rarity in Campbell classes, but as an eastern Pennsylvania native, his commitment would be huge for the Blue and White, especially for Matt Campbell. While the Nittany Lions don't have the same resources as Lane Kiffin now does with the Tigers or the appeal of Notre Dame, that in-state status could mean something as the race tightens for Sesay. At the end of the day, the Nittany Lions may need this signing to go their way to have any hope of an in-state profile.
