We have a chance to be 5-3 on this home stand.

Suns will have to be firing on all cylinders when they play the Hawks.

Landry Shamet has had a tough time getting it going in a Suns uniform.

He looked great in preseason. Disappointing since Booker returned though.

I always worry about backups like him who start for a short period because they struggle to adjust back to their normal role. That's why it's nice to have an extra player to cover as a starter while keeping the backup in their normal role, albeit with extended minutes. Oh well. I believe Shamet will come around.

Fixing the slow starts will make a huge difference. So it is fixable.

But it hasn’t been slow starts we’ve looked good early and got up big in a few games only to choke it away. It’s just giving an effort from start to finish

When we have low turn overs we crush opponents. Nights like tonight, giving it up easy, we kill ourselves. Monty needs to have them focus on ball control.

Although the stats won't reflect it, Frank Kaminsky played good defense on Valanciunas.

Valanciunas still finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds.

They didn't really invest a 1st round pick in him. They basically used their pick to select him and I have no doubt he'll be better than anyone we could have added at #29.

Bridges and Frank kept us in this game. Bridges had 22 points and the Suns were +19 with him on the court. Frank had 17 points and the Suns were +18 when he was on the court.

Our slow start was because of turnovers. Like I said, fixable.

I am talking about turnovers period. The Suns have been horrible so far this season. The complete opposite of last season.

Suns included the 29th pick in the trade for Shamet. I'm glad he wasn't a rental though.

I saw Ish Wainright on the bench tonight. He is on a two-way contract. Down the road I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

That's the problem, Paul and McGee should be getting the least mins at this point in the season. It was ugly.

I agree with Paul but McGee has to step up and play more with Ayton out. He didn't even play that many minutes, Frank played 29 to JaVale's 19.
