Pelicans @ Suns game thread 4-6-18

Friday the Pelicans visit the Suns. They have lost four of their last five games but are coming off a 123-95 win against the Grizzlies at home. This will be the first game of a three game road trip for the Pelicans.

Of course the Suns are coming off a 97-94 win against the Kings. The Suns will face the Warriors on Sunday to conclude their home stand.

Game time for the Pelicans game is 7 p.m. Arizona time.

Needless to say, the Suns last three games will have lottery implications

Officially, Alan Williams out tomorrow. Booker, Payton, Warren, Daniels all listed as questionable but Triano made it sound as if none of them will play.

Scott Bordow talks a bit more about the Suns injuries heading into the Pelicans game.

Alan Williams (knee soreness) will not play against New Orleans. Interim coach Jay Triano said he doesn’t expect Devin Booker (sprained hand), T.J. Warren (left knee inflammation), Elfrid Payton (knee tendinitis) or Troy Daniels (two ankle sprains) to play. All are officially listed as questionable.

Williams has knee soreness? That concerns me.

Williams has knee soreness? That concerns me.

He's coming off surgery. It's not much of an issue unless it's his opposite knee. It's not uncommon for a player to develop some issues after they make a comeback because they don't put as much pressure on their bodies in practice. Even if Williams is suffering from new injuries, his contract isn't guaranteed beyond this season so they're not on the hook for him.

Pelicans lead 10-2 with 7:55 in the 1st quarter.

McDonough thinks the Suns being playoff competitive next season is realistic.

He talks about adding a couple of players in the draft and completing the roster with veterans.

McDonough also wants a head coach that is experienced although not necessarily as a head coach.

He viewed candidates in being different buckets of experience. McDonough would like to look at a couple of candidates with head coach experience.

He was speaking with the Suns game announcers.

Jackson is sitting on the bench... not leaving game.

After getting knocked around a lot, Bender now has 8 points and 6 rebounds thanks largely to two 3 point shots.

Ulis and Chriss have 14 points each.

Jackson with 13 points and 7 rebounds.
