New England Patriots wide receiver Romeo Doubs revealed one specific thing that makes A. J. Brown special: his physicality. The way that Brown runs routes and his athleticism for a player his size are rare traits.
Brown’s signing was one of the biggest of the offseason for the Patriots. That being said, Doubs was an equally important signing in his own right. He came to New England from the Green Bay Packers after a very productive 2025 season. All told, he recorded 55 receptions for 724 yards and six touchdowns. Now, he is looking to take on a large complementary role alongside Brown.
“It’s been amazing. I love A.J.," Doubs said on Forged in Foxborough. "He’s an amazing football player, but his human acts will inspire off the field. Both on and off the field. It’s something that I look up to deeply. I’ve watched his game, the ins and outs. Just his physicality, the way he catches the football, his catch radius. The way he runs his routes at his weight, it’s not normal. Again, he’s an amazing person to be around. I’m blessed to be around him.”
Brown had what some have considered a down season last year with the Philadelphia Eagles, even though he still racked up 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. If that's a down year, the Patriots should have plenty to be excited about heading into the 2026 season.
Both Brown and Doubs will open up the offense in ways that haven't been seen in previous seasons. The new dynamic duo should help the unit take things to the next level.
