The New England Patriots announced that they signed running back Hassan Haskins on Wednesday after waiving running back Myles Montgomery, a day before the preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
Haskins has played three seasons in the NFL. He began his career playing for the Tennessee Titans in 2022, before playing for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2024-25. Haskins most recently recorded 47 rushing yards with the Chargers last season.
Montgomery signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent this offseason. He played at Cincinnati from 2021-23, followed by UCF from 2024-25. Montgomery recorded 705 rushing yards last season before entering the NFL. The Patriots released him with an injury designation.
Haskins joins a running back room in New England that is led by Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson, and also includes Terrell Jennings, Lan Larison and rookie Jam Miller. He arrives in New England with the team preparing to play against the Colts in Week 1 of the preseason on Thursday.
