There still seems to be a sense around the NFL that multiple teams are looking for help on both sides of the football, including the New England Patriots.

The Patriots are expected to have one of the best rosters in the NFL once again this season, including an elite head coach in Mike Vrabel.

From top to bottom, this is a team that's expected to win a ton of games. However, one could also argue that the Patriots could use some help on both sides of the football, depending on what they want to do.

With a Vrabel-led team, adding a player on the defensive end is never a bad idea. That's part of the reason why one writer recently suggested that New England go after a veteran in Josh Sweat.

Sweat has been around the league a bit over the past few seasons, but has been a very productive player in most of his spots. He's currently a member of the Arizona Cardinals, but rumors suggest he could be traded in the near future.

“New England is right in the middle of their championship window and if they learned anything from their Super Bowl 60 loss, it’s that they need a better defensive front. That’s exactly what Sweat gives them,” Wynston Wilcox wrote.

“Christian Gonzalez and this man-pressure defense Mike Vrabel has constructed is only productive when you have a pass rush that scares even the best of offensive lines. Add Sweat into the mix and now the Patriots look a little bit more dangerous.”

Adding Sweat would give the Patriots another player who can come in and not only make an impact on the defensive side of the ball but also post 10-plus sacks.

Over the past four seasons, the 29-year-old has posted 37.5 sacks. For a team looking to win a Super Bowl, there's no debate that adding a player of his caliber would go a long way.
