A strong 2025 season garnered some national recognition for Milton Williams.

Every summer, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler surveys dozens of execs, coaches and scouts to devise a Top 10 list at every NFL position. Over 70 league evaluators participated in this July’s edition.

Williams may not have been voted to the Pro Bowl last season, but his play did earn him a spot on ESPN’s Top 10 list of defensive tackles for the first time.

The 27-year-old came in at No. 9 overall and Williams received votes as high as No. 5.

“New England has an anchor up front, and the defense wasn’t the same without him,” an NFL personnel evaluator told Fowler. “Explosive, strong and great effort player. And you can move him all around the defensive front and he can be effective.”

Williams was effective in the regular season and took his play to another level when the calendar hit January. In the playoffs, Williams registered 3 sacks and 5 quarterback hits, while his 4 tackles for loss were the most of anybody in the postseason.

Thus far, ESPN has released five position groups — running backs, cornerbacks, edge rushers, defensive tackles, tight ends — and Williams is the second New England player to crack a list. Christian Gonzalez is the highest-ranking Patriot thus far, landing third among the cornerbacks.
