The stage is set for Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. One of the top questions folks have for every Super Bowl relates to what the teams will be wearing. Unlike every other game in the NFL, the Super Bowl is a neutral location. This year, the AFC is the designated "home" team, meaning the ball is in New England's court to set the tone of what these teams will wear.
On Thursday morning, after a few days of speculation, it became official. The Patriots will wear their all-white uniforms for the first time in the Super Bowl. New England wore this particular combo during their 10-7 victory over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship.
With New England wearing white, that leaves navy as the only option for the Seahawks to wear in the Super Bowl. The NFL does not allow alternate jerseys, which sadly rules out the throwbacks, the Nike Rivalries, and the Action Greens (which did not make an appearance this year). Seattle can either rock with the all-College Navy combo, or shake it up with navy jersey/grey pants. In a way, it would be poetic to book end the year with navy jerseys/grey pants, as they wore that combo in Week 1.
However, if I had to guess, I assume they are going to rock with the all-College Navy uniforms. Seattle is 6-0 this year in this combo, with back-to-back playoff wins in them this year. Now, there will be those who point out the Seahawks are 0-2 in the Super Bowl with the all-navy look, including XLIX to the Patriots. But I will counter that by saying Seattle was 0-2 in the playoffs against the Rams and they managed to prevail! Perfect time to get their first win in this set.
