New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye wasn't seen throwing the ball during the media portion of Thursday's practice. However, when speaking with media members later in the day, via Boston Herald's Doug Kyed, he confirmed that he did throw the ball at practice.

Maye has been dealing with a right shoulder injury, which led to him popping up as a limited participant on Wednesday's projected injury report. According to NBC Sports Boston's Phil Perry, the injury is believed to have initially happened ahead of last Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos.

Maye was asked if he was surprised by all of the attention his shoulder is getting in the lead-up to Super Bowl LX on February 8.

"Surprised? I wouldn't say surprised. It's the right shoulder of a quarterback on an NFL team," Maye simply stated.

Are you surprised by all the talk about your shoulder?

Earlier in the day, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel was asked what his level of concern was regarding Maye's shoulder injury ahead of the Super Bowl.

"Not much," Vrabel responded.

Maye's injury isn't a big nothing-burger heading into the biggest game of the season. He's obviously dealing with something. It just might not be to the extent that everyone is hyping it up to be. Every indication so far is that the second-year quarterback will be ready to go for the Super Bowl.
