The New England Patriots are predicted to use the 31st overall pick on an intriguing prospect.

New England has been widely linked to selecting some defensive line help at 31st overall to help bolster its pass rush. Ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, The Athletic’s Vic Talur predicted New England would select Auburn Tigers edge rusher, Keldric Faulk.

“It doesn’t seem smart that teams let an athletic, versatile player like Faulk fall to the defending AFC champions,” Talur wrote.

Faulk is a 6-foot-6 edge rusher who spent three years at Auburn. His production dipped last season as he recorded just 29 tackles and two sacks. His best season was in 2024 when he recorded 45 tackles, seven sacks, and one forced fumble.

The 21-year-old could be a Day 1 starter for the Patriots and help replace the void of K'lavon Chaisson, who signed with the Washington Commanders.

Faulk is a stellar run defender, while his pass-rushing is considered a work in progress; he showed flashes of his ability to get after the quarterback at Auburn.

NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com has Faulk as the 27th-ranked prospect and said he lacks the ideal explosion for a pass rusher, but makes up for it with his fluid movement.

Ultimately, Faulk could end up sliding to 31st overall, and Talur believes New England would jump at the chance to select him.
