Patriots Once Again Named Top Five Most Valuable Franchise in NFL originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Over the past few decades, the Patriots have become one of the premier organizations in the NFL, which has helped both on and off the field.
For years, the Patriots trailed really just the Dallas Cowboys as the most valuable organization in the NFL according to Forbes. That is largely due to the team's success, with the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick dynasty leading the charge to making New England such a valuable franchise.
When Brady left the organization, and the team's on-field performance dipped, other organizations caught up to New England in the valuation charts. However, the Patriots' remained in a strong position despite the losses before the team re-gained its winning ways last year with Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel.
In the aftermath of the Patriots' returning to the Super Bowl during the 2025 season, New England's valuation remained steadfast. Here's how the Patriots are valued compared to other organizations.
Patriots team valuation
According to Sportico, the Patriots are the fourth-most valuable team in the NFL entering the 2026 season, trailing just the Cowboys, Rams and Giants. The first two are no surprise, as the Cowboys are always the most valuable team and the Rams are a successful team based in Los Angeles, while the Giants are in the top three based more on reputation than recent success.
The story claims that New England is worth $10.4 billion and up 19 percent from where the franchise was valued last year. The team is a clear tier below the top three, since those teams are all above $12 million, but just above the Jets and Eagles, who are worth $10.35 billion and $10.31 billion, respectively.
As NFL teams are the most valuable in American sports, the Patriots placement on this list is not only indicative of where they are within the league, but where they are in the sports industry as well.
Robert Kraft net worth
Forbes reports that Patriots owner Robert Kraft is worth $13.8 billion.
In 1994, Kraft bought the Patriots for $172 million, and the team has flourished under his watch since. Kraft has been the owner for all six of the Patriots' Super Bowl titles, and has overseen five more AFC Championship wins and Super Bowl appearances.
Due to New England's success, Kraft is one of the more visible owners in the league and has a large amount of influence in league meetings. He is also the chairman and CEO of The Kraft Group, which is involved in a variety of industries including sports management, construction and private equity.
