The New England Patriots will head to Munich, Germany in November to face the Detroit Lions, marking their third international game in the last four seasons.

The Patriots will be playing the Lions on Nov. 15 for a Week 10 matchup in FC Bayern Munich Stadium. It will be the second time the Patriots will play in Germany. The first instance came in 2023 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Patriots lost 10-6 thanks to interceptions by Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe in the fourth quarter.

The Patriots have not played overseason since 2024, when they played the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. The Patriots lost that game as well, 32-16, and dropped to 3-2 on international soil. The Patriots' matchup against the Lions will be one of nine international games for the NFL next season.

According to MassLive's Mark Daniels, Germany counts as a home market for the Patriots.

The Lions did not have their best season last year, but they are loaded with talent. Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Aidan Hutchinson headline a star-studded roster looking to get back to the playoffs.
