The New England Patriots will face the Houston Texans in the divisional round on Sunday, Jan. 18.
New England’s matchup came into focus following Monday Night Football, where the Texans were victorious in their wild-card matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.
The NFL immediately announced the details for the entire divisional round for Saturday and Sunday:
Saturday, Jan. 17
No. 6 Buffalo Bills @ No. 1 Denver Broncos (4:30 p.m. ET on CBS)
No. 6 San Francisco 49ers @ No. 1 Seattle Seahawks (8 p.m. ET on FOX)
Sunday, Jan. 18
No. 5 Houston Texans @ No. 2 New England Patriots (3 p.m. ET on ESPN)
No. 5 Los Angeles Rams @ No. 2 Chicago Bears (6:30 p.m. ET on NBC)
Houston’s defense turned in a dominant effort to secure the victory, recording four sacks while allowing just six points as they held things down despite three turnovers and five fumbles from quarterback C.J. Stroud.
New England reportedly sent director of pro personnel A.J. Highsmith and pro scout Bob Kronenberg to watch their upcoming opponent take care of business.
