With 2026 third-round pick Chris Brazzell II likely to miss the remainder of the summer, the Carolina Panthers signed another rookie receiver to help fill the void.
As announced on Thursday morning, the team has signed Gabriel Benyard. Benyard is now the second wideout the Panthers have added in as many days, joining former Atlanta Falcon Casey Washington.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder first signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent this spring. He came into the pros out of Kennesaw State University—where he amassed 79 receptions for 1,111 yards and nine touchdowns over two seasons.
Benyard led Conference USA in receiving yards (949) and receiving touchdowns (nine) during his final campaign with the Owls in 2025. He also paced the conference in punt returns (25), punt return yardage (234) and punt return touchdowns (one).
To make room for Benyard, the Panthers waived defensive lineman Parker Petersen—an undrafted rookie out of the University of Wisconsin.
