The Carolina Panthers have made a roster move right before the start of mandatory minicamp.
As announced on Monday, the team has signed wide receiver Malick Meiga. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder is an undrafted rookie out of nearby Coastal Carolina University.
A native of Montreal, Canada, Meiga split his five-year collegiate career between Penn State (2021 to 2023) and Coastal Carolina (2024 to 2025). Over a combined 51 games, he recorded 35 catches for 432 yards and two touchdowns.
Meiga now accounts as the 13th wide receiver on the roster—joining Tetairoa McMillan, Jalen Coker, Xavier Legette, Chris Brazzell II, Jimmy Horn Jr., Brycen Tremayne, David Moore, John Metchie III, Dan Chisena, Ja'seem Reed, Ainias Smith and Kobe Prentice.
To make room for Meiga, the Panthers have waived tight end Heinrich Haarberg. Haarberg—who served as a passer, rusher and pass catcher over his five years at the University of Nebraska—signed with Carolina back on May 20.
