The Carolina Panthers may be reuniting quarterback Bryce Young with his one of his top pass catchers from college.

According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Panthers have reached terms on an agreement with wide receiver John Metchie. Per Schefter, the deal is a one-year pact.

Metchie was teammates with Young during their time at the University of Alabama. He served as a go-to target for the Crimson Tide during Young's Heisman Trophy-winning campaign in 2021, where he reeled in a team-leading 96 receptions for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns.

After being named a second-team All-SEC member that year, Metchie was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. He's also picked up stops with the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets, and has amassed 73 catches for 686 yards and three scores over three pro seasons.
