A month and a half ago, from the NFL Annual League Meeting, Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that he was hoping to lock in a joint practice this summer with friend Dave Canales and his Carolina Panthers. Well, that doesn't seem to be the case any longer.
According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, the Panthers are planning on joint practices against two other AFC South teams—the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans. Both are slated to play against Carolina to finish up the upcoming preseason.
The Texans would be a familiar summer-time foe for the Panthers, as the teams met up for a practice session in 2025. That outing, which took place in Houston, was followed by a 20-3 exhibition loss from NRG Stadium.
This time, it'll be the Panthers hosting the Texans—who will come to Bank of America Stadium for the preseason finale on Friday, Aug. 28. Carolina will visit Jacksonville the week prior.
