The Carolina Panthers have made their trade of quarterback Andy Dalton official.

As announced on Tuesday, the team has agreed upon a swap involving the soon-to-be 16th-year veteran—who is now headed to the Philadelphia Eagles. The move, which was first reported on last Wednesday, sends Dalton to the NFC East in exchange for a 2027 seventh-round draft pick.

Dalton, starting in 2023, spent three of his pro campaigns in Carolina. He'd end up making seven starts over 13 games in that time—completing 64.7 percent of his throws for 1,643 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

His role as the Panthers' backup quarterback had been in question all offseason, as general manager Dan Morgan expressed a desire to add competition behind starter Bryce Young back in January. Morgan and company have since signed former first-round pick Kenny Pickett to a one-year pact.
