The Carolina Panthers are giving a former first-round pick a look.
According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, the team is bringing in offensive lineman Kenyon Green for a tryout during this weekend's rookie minicamp. Panthers Statement (@JT_Statement on Twitter/X) was first with news of the invite on Thursday afternoon.
A two-time consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC selection, Green was taken with the 15th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. He'd go on to make 23 starts over 27 outings for the Texans through the 2024 campaign, with all of his 1,405 offensive snaps coming at left guard.
Houston then traded Green and a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and a 2025 sixth-rounder at the start of the previous league year. The 6-foot-4, 323-pounder, who also went on to pick up a stint on the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad, did not appear in a regular-season contest in 2025.
