Before heading into his second draft as the president of football operations and general manager of the Carolina Panthers next week, Dan Morgan received some special news on Friday.

This afternoon, Morgan was announced as one of four 2025 inductees into the University of Miami's Ring of Honor. The former linebacker will be joined by wide receiver and Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Johnson, offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie and quarterback Ken Dorsey—who spent two years as a pro scout (2011 and 2012) and five years as the quarterbacks coach (2013 to 2017) for Carolina.

A Coral Spring, Fla. native, Morgan would become the program's all-time leading tackler (532) over his four seasons as a Hurricane. His final year in Miami (2000) was as decorated as they come—as he captured the Dick Butkus Award, the Bronko Nagurski Award, the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Lambert Award, the Big East Defensive Player of the Year Award and a unanimous All-American nod.

The Panthers then selected Morgan with the 11th overall pick of the 2001 NFL draft. He went on to play seven seasons in Carolina.

Morgan, Dorsey, Johnson and McKinnie will be formally inducted during halftime of Miami's game against Stanford University on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Hard Rock Stadium.
