What are Panini World Cup stickers?
Since 1970, Panini has done an officially licensed sticker booklet for every FIFA World Cup, with the exception of 1994 when Upper Deck owned the rights.
The first of its kind featured 270 stickers to collect, with one for most players featured at the competition.
Since then, the sticker album has grown into a collecting phenomenon, with soccer fans and collecting enthusiasts alike excited every four years for the product to be released.
Collecting all stickers and filling an album is a badge of honor in the hobby, but that has become more and more difficult each cycle as the album grows in size. For the 2026 sticker album, there are a whopping 980 different stickers to collect to complete the booklet from front to back.
"That swap experience, that culture, has been ingrained and embedded long before the last 16 years [when Panini America joined the company as a subsidiary] because there's such a dynamic and diverse group of people in the U.S. from all over the world," Panini America senior vice president of marketing and athlete relations Jason Howarth told The Sporting News.
Panini World Cup sticker rarities
While most collectors just hope to acquire one of every single sticker in the Panini World Cup album to complete the set, there are also different rarities of each sticker for those more dedicated or specific collectors.
In the United States, each sticker has a border color that indicates its individual rarity. The different colors are:
| Color | Rarity |
| White | Common (Every pack) |
| Blue | Uncommon (1 in every 2 packs) |
| Red | Rare (1 in every 25 packs) |
| Purple | Very Rare (1 in every 200 packs) |
| Green | Super Rare (1 in every 1,400 packs) |
| Black | 1-of-1 (1 of each sticker in existence) |
The rarest of the stickers are the black borders, of which there is only one of each player in existence. For the most desirable players, these can often sell for upwards of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands, of dollars on resale sites.
Coca-Cola Panini World Cup partnership
New for the 2026 album is a partnership with Coca-Cola.
In the very back of the album are 12 stickers to collect from the inside of Coca-Cola labels on select bottled products. Panini has negotiated individual rights deals with all 12 players in order to include their images in an additional way.
The deal with Coca-Cola gives Panini a "massive presence" across major retailers, Howarth said. There are 375 million Coca-Cola Panini stickers to be produced across the United States and Canada, and more than 1 billion across the globe.
In addition, there are digital-exclusive stickers that fans can download and collect as well, with each individual able to redeem one code per day for a pack of digital stickers.

Can you buy missing Panini World Cup stickers individually?
Yes, you can buy individual stickers missing from your collection.
The first stop for your missing stickers is the official Panini website, where you can purchase up to five missing stickers for 70 cents each. However, don't expect to find a Lionel Messi sticker, as those are sold out.
Otherwise, you will have to check resale websites like eBay for your missing stickers, which vary greatly in price depending on player desirability and rarity.
The best way to finish your collection is still through trading, however!
Where can I trade Panini World Cup stickers?
Panini has a number of official trading events and locations all across the United States during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with dedicated times and dates for each one. You can find one coming up near you by clicking here.
"The swap experience for Panini, and how engaged people are, and just hungry for it, is not dissimiar to the Pokemon Go crazy," Howarth said. "Everyone's talking about meet-ups and where they're going to be for Panini sticker swaps across all social platforms. It's not just 'oh there's a bunch of kids at the park swapping stickers that will ride home on their bikes' like I did in the 80's. They're definitely more engaged [now]."
The hub is located in New York City at Rockefeller Center, where a Panini truck sells product and a crowd of collectors gather to trade every weekday during the tournament.
Mobile tour vehicles
There are four mobile tour vehicles moving around the United States and Canada throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Starting in May and continuing through the , vehicles visited stops in Florida, Deleware, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Georgia, Virginia, California, Illinois, Missouri, Ontario, and other stops throughout the countries.
Guinness World Record attempt
Panini will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for "Largest Sports Sticker Exchange in 8 Hours (multiple venues)" on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
There will be four different locations during which collectors can come to trade stickers:

- American Dream Mall (East Rutherford, NJ)
- Mexico City FIFA Fan Festival (Mexico City, Mexico)
- Parque de las Ninas y los Ninos (Guadalajara, Mexico)
The events will all take place simultaneously, from 11 a.m. ET to 7 p.m. ET.
Panini says that the current record stands at 2,577 one-to-one swaps. "Panini will aim to surpass that mark by creating a continuous flow of collectors throughout the day across all locations," the collectable company says.
Who is doing the sticker album for the 2030 FIFA World Cup?
Panini will be in command of the FIFA World Cup sticker album for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the 100th anniversary of the tournament.
However, that will be their final time producing the sticker album, as their current deal runs out after that tournament.
Following the 2030 competition, Fanatics and their collectables brand Topps will be taking over all World Cup collectables, as they signed a landmark long-term licensing deal with FIFA.
