Army football added two more players nominated for watch lists for a pair of prestigious college awards.
Senior center Brady Small was selected for the Outland Trophy preseason list by the Football Writers Association of America. The Outland goes to the nation's top interior offensive or defensive lineman, and there are 68 on the preseason list.

Senior Owen Walter was named to the Patrick Mannelly Award preseason list. The Mannelly goes to the top long snapper in college football.
Small, from Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey, has started in all 39 career games over his first three seasons. He was literally at the center of the 2024 Army offensive line that was presented with the Joe More Award as the top offensive line unit in college football. Small has been a two-time first-team All-American Conference all star and has received All-American consideration.
Walter, from Arlington Heights, Illinois, is one of 20 long snappers put up for the award. Walter has handled the duties for the Black Knights the past two seasons. Like Small, Walter is one of Army's co-captains for the 2026 season.
The Outland semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 18 and the three finalists on Nov. 24. The award will be announced in December, and presented in Omaha, Nebraska, on Jan. 27, 2027. The Mannelly semifinalists will be determined in November and the award presented in December.
Army senior quarterback Cale Hellums was named to the Maxwell Awards preseason list this week.
Army's preseason practice gets underway on Wednesday, August 5. The season opener is September 5 against visiting Bryant.
