Well, well, well. Here we are again, J.J. McCarthy. The Minnesota Vikings are expected to start McCarthy at quarterback for today’s game against the Green Bay Packers after he missed his team’s last game, a win over the Detroit Lions on Christmas Day. That result was important for the Packers, who clinched a playoff spot thanks to the Vikings’ victory.

That clinching and the Packers’ eventual loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Saturday locked them into the #7 seed in the NFC playoffs, setting up a week 18 matchup that means nothing for any playoff considerations. Therefore, the Packers will start third-string quarterback Clayton Tune, even with starter Jordan Love ready to go off the concussion protocol.

The NFL put this game in the early afternoon due to that lack of impact on playoff seeding, so Packers fans can get this game, which will probably be pretty ugly on both sides, out of the way ahead of focusing on games that do have significant importance. Need the details for how and when to tune in? Scroll down and check all of that out below, then bring it back here to APC later today to discuss the game.
