The Green Bay Packers are dealing with injuries to quarterbacks Jordan Love and Malik Willis coming out of Saturday night's loss to the Chicago Bears.
Love, who took a helmet-to-helmet hit in the second quarter, exited with a concussion and is now in the league's concussion protocol, putting his status in jeopardy for Saturday's visit from the Baltimore Ravens.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Love was "doing better" on Sunday but explained the concussion protocol has multiple stages to pass through before a player is cleared.
Complicating the situation at quarterback entering Week 17 is a new shoulder injury for Willis, the backup.
LaFleur said Willis is "pretty sore" and his injury is a "legitimate deal."
"He's going to be another guy we'll see where he's at as we progress. That further complicates the other problem," LaFleur said.
Willis went down hard on his throwing shoulder while being sacked by Montez Sweat to end regulation. He appeared to be in pain after the play but ended up playing through the issue during overtime.
The third quarterback on the roster is Clayton Tune, who was signed to the practice squad after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals following training camp. Tune, who has appeared in 13 career games and made one start, was not available to play against the Bears on Saturday night.
LaFleur said Josh Jacobs and Jayden Reed are the emergency quarterbacks on the roster.
The Packers won't practice for the first time this week until Wednesday. The first injury report of Week 17 will also arrive Wednesday afternoon.
It's possible LaFleur will be faced with a waiting game this week. Can Love clear protocol in time? Can Willis play through a right shoulder injury? Is Tune ready if needed? A lot of question marks at quarterback for the Packers entering an important week.
